How can children deal with HIV/AIDS,drugs and crime when they cannot even read?

Founder, Sven Tumba

Sport For Education is an exciting global project using sport as a catalyst to capture a childs interest in reading and writing, teamwork, sharing and self respect.

33 million African children will not be going to school today... or any other day.

What we do

Our programs are designed to be simple yet very effective.
Our strategies include:

- Training new and existing teachers to enhance literacy and numeracy thus
leading to employment.

- Create environments which promote learning, restoring classrooms, school facilities and the planning of outdoor
sport fields.

- Operating new schools and supplying teachers, books, school supplies, food
and sport activities.

- Sport is taught and exercised daily. We encourage team sports like soccer and basketball which are inexpensive to play and enjoyed by all students.

Illiteracy and poverty go hand-in-hand.

The The United Nations has set as its target to provide basic universal education for all children around the world by the year 2015.
