33 million African children will not be going to school today...
or any other day.

Quoted by Nicolas Sarkozy, French Prime Minister during a meeting
with British PM Gordon Brown and Sepp Blatter FIFA.

THE PROBLEM

For many of us, education is something we take for granted. Unfortunately, more than 100 million children do not receive any education at all. 33 million children in Africa alone do not go to school. The situation must change as children cannot survive without proper education. Education acts as a mental vaccine against drugs, crime, violence and preventable diseases such as HIV/AIDS. With a foundation of reading, writing and arithmetic, along with a mature sense of responsibility and respect, a child has the tools for life. The children are our future and we must do everything possible to help them get a good start in life. With your help we can upgrade new schools, educate teachers, develop and introduce our sport programs into many other towns and villages in South Africa and other countries in need.

FACTS:

The figures speak for themselves.
